What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer (EIT) Residential Structural position at KSE Engineering, P.C.?
Project Engineer (EIT) – Residential Structural
Full-time | Flex schedule | In-person
We’re looking for a motivated Project Engineer (EIT) to join our team and help deliver high-quality residential and accessory/amenity structural engineering projects from concept through construction documents.
What you’ll do
- Design and produce structural construction documents (roof, floor, and foundation plans) plus details and specifications.
- Perform structural calculations, review shop drawings, support permit/plan reviews, and handle field repair coordination as needed.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects—own schedules, meet production deadlines, and keep deliverables accurate and code-compliant.
- Collaborate daily with Project Managers, other engineers, structural drafters, and the Architecture Department on shared client work.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with internal teams and clients throughout every project phase.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- Passed (or actively working toward) the FE exam through NCEES.
- Working knowledge of residential structural systems and construction methods.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and Microsoft 365 / Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Willingness to put in additional hours when project deadlines require it.
Why this role
You’ll work on a steady pipeline of residential projects alongside experienced Project Managers and an Architecture team that values clear coordination and reliable delivery. We use Microsoft 365 and Teams to keep project communication, document sharing, and status updates organized company-wide—so you’ll plug into established standards rather than reinventing processes.
This is a full-time, in-person role with a flex schedule. Reasonable accommodations are available in accordance with applicable law.
