Position Summary
KSB Inc. is seeking a dynamic and motivated Application Engineer - Valves to join our team. This role will encompass inside sales, applications engineering, and project management, requiring expertise in industrial valve applications.
Location: Richmond, VA or Houston, TX
Duties/Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary inside sales contact for industrial valve inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses to customer requests.
- Analyze customer specifications and application requirements to recommend suitable KSB valve solutions.
- Prepare and issue quotations, proposals, and technical submittals for valves and related equipment.
- Manage the full project lifecycle from quote to order fulfillment, ensuring alignment with customer needs and delivery schedules.
- Provide engineering support for valve selection, sizing, and technical troubleshooting.
- Work closely with Regional Sales Managers, distributors, and customers to develop and maintain strong relationships.
- Coordinate internally with KSB factories, procurement, and logistics to ensure smooth execution of customer orders.
- Maintain CRM records and documentation to track sales activities, customer interactions, and project statuses.
- Required:
- Prior experience in industrial valve sales, applications engineering, or project management.
- Familiarity with valves used in Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, Chemical, Industrial, Oil & Gas, or Water industries.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial valves, including materials, configurations, and applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Preferred but not required:
- Experience with control valve sizing and selection.
- Understanding of industry specifications and standards related to industrial valves.
- Education / Experience:
- B.S. degree in Engineering with at least two years of experience of centrifugal pump engineering and application. Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
