Position Overview: The Junior Operations Research Analyst will support MCICOM G-9 Installation Analytics (IA) in delivering data-informed decision support for Marine Corps installations. This role involves descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to optimize infrastructure and installation services, contributing to strategic planning and resource allocation.

Position Responsibilities:
Descriptive Analysis
- Collect, normalize, and analyze data across installations and programs.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, PowerPoint, Python, or R.
- Conduct cost and schedule estimates using various techniques (parametric, analogy, etc.).
- Extract and manipulate data from SQL tables and other formats.
- Implement statistical analysis and data mining in cloud environments.
- Document modeling parameters and validate results with stakeholders.
Predictive Analysis
- Build and refine models, forecasting infrastructure, and service requirements.
- Apply machine learning and operations research techniques to identify trends.
- Support lifecycle management and cost estimation aligned with the Facility Investment Strategy (FIS).
- Conduct economic and cost-benefit analyses.
Prescriptive Analysis
- Develop optimization models for investment strategies across the Future Years Defense Program (FYDP).
- Integrate budget scenarios, readiness metrics, and facility data.
- Document methodologies and provide training on model usage.
- Deliver analytic products, including briefs, info papers, and visualizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- Up to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Tableau, SQL).
- Strong communication skills for presenting findings to senior leadership.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- Familiarity with DoD cost estimating and PPBE processes is a plus.
