Job Overview
We are seeking a Highly Skilled Marine Mechanic to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment, specializing in family boats in the Reno-Carson-Tahoe area.
This is not an entry level role- we are looking for a dedicated professional with a deep understanding of marine systems, a strong work ethic, and pride in delivering exceptional craftsmanship.
The ideal candidate is proficeint in diagnosing, maintaing and repairing a wide range of marine vessels and propulsion systems. From routine service as well as seasonal activations to full engine installations and complex troubleshooting. This role requires both technical knowledge and expertise with full attention to detail.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced technicians passionate about marine systems, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical repairs. As a key player in our operations, you will ensure the optimal performance and safety of marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and related mechanical components, as well as yearly maintenance.
Ideally, have experience in winter shrink wrapping and the ability to navigate a forklift.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical systems using problem solving, experience and diagnostic tools.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, to execute repairs with precision.
- Maintain boats by performing scheduled inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance in accordance with safety standards.
- Assist in the training of junior technicians on marine mechanics best practices and safety procedures.
- Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise during customer consultations or service proposals related to marine repair solutions.
Skills
- Extensive experience as a service technician specializing in marine mechanics with a strong background in engine repair and mechanical systems repair.
- Proficiency in wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions for complex marine electrical and mechanical systems.
- Solid understanding of marine electrical systems troubleshooting, including electrical diagnostics using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools.
- Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Shrink wrapping ( helpful but not necessary)
- Ability to drive a forklift.
