Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed
- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and ensuring products are properly displayed according to merchandising standards
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and sales floor to enhance the shopping environment
- Handle cash register operations with attention to detail, including balancing cash drawers at shift end
- Support inventory management by conducting stock counts and assisting with receiving shipments
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both English and bilingual settings
- Proven experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments with familiarity in retail math and cash register operations
- Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions
- Demonstrated supervising experience or ability to assist in training new team members
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for sales totals and change-making
- Excellent phone etiquette for answering customer inquiries professionally over the phone
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, product demos, upselling techniques, and retail store product knowledge
- Familiarity with retail sales transactions, inventory management, and grocery store operations is preferred
