Description
Summary:
Leads and engages production team employees. Plans, coordinates, and oversees various daily activities of the bakery to insure efficient production. Responsible for monitoring employee safety, team adherence to quality guidelines and standards, and area metrics. Communicate when metrics, safety, and/or quality is outside of acceptable range/standard. All leads are working leads.
Essential Job Functions/Duties:
• Executes the day-to-day production schedule.
• Communicate when production metrics are out of range; take corrective action to adjust production when possible
• Ensures required materials are available
• Assists in scheduling and position assignment of employees
• Responsible for employee break coverage/rotation as scheduled
• Makes sure employees keep work areas clean and organized
• Advocate for safe working conditions, encouraging safe working behaviors and assisting with accident investigations
• Ensures Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirements are followed
• Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to working the line

- Physical Demands/Work Environment:
1. Manufacturing plant environment with frequent standing for extended periods of time; walking; lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 60 pounds unassisted; occasional bending, crouching, stooping, and reaching.
2. Acceptable coordination of eye-hand, hand-foot, and balance; Dexterity of hands and fingers with repetition
3. Ability to work overtime, including weekends
4. Flexibility in work hours, including work schedules
5. Varied temperature environment (hot/cold/freezer)
Education/Experience:
1. Prior team lead experience in a production environment
2. Experience in machine changeovers and equipment adjustments
3. Effective communication skills including basic reading, writing, speaking; clear and concise; problem resolution and people skills
4. Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Accuracy is a must.
5. Great understanding of machine operation in manufacturing environment
6. Attention to detail and quality a must
7. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
8. Prior forklift certification a plus
9. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) a plus
