Position Summary

Execute the company standards and initiatives to control variable expenses with continual improvement of sanitation and sustainability of ecological resources throughout the division. Develop division goals, strategy/action plans for implementation of company/division variable expense, and sustainability initiatives. Coach and train Operations field specialist, district manager, and store teams in all aspects of variable expense, sanitation and sustainability. Effectively communicate and influence all levels of leadership throughout the division regarding expense sanitation and sustainability. Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions

  • Communicate with all levels of leadership throughout the division and corporate office; serve as an influential operations adviser to division senior leadership
  • Collaborate with division, district and store teams and implement initiatives to assist in controlling expenses, maintaining/improving sanitation standards and ecological sustainability enterprise best practices
  • Align with corporate ESS and Enterprise Sourcing on escalations in service and/or probationary notices/termination
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, serve as liaison for service-related opportunities between vendors and stores, and hold vendors accountable for poor performance and/or incomplete work
  • Monitor ePRO, I-Payables, COUPA and P-Card expenses
  • Evaluate areas of opportunity in detailed store walks and address in uplifting manner; maintain sharp eye for details
  • Hold district managers and store teams accountable for Budgeted Variable Expense misses; follow up with store visits
  • Drive transformational change and improve execution at store level for Sanitation and Sustainability by effectively communicating to district manager, Operations field specialist and store teams
  • Coach best practices, supporting implemented initiatives with division leadership, district managers, Operations field specialist and store teams
  • Implement Corporate Expense reduction, Sanitation, and Sustainability initiatives for the division
  • Report period, quarter, and yearly results to business stakeholders, including corporate ESS
  • Collaborate with district manager, Operations, Maintenance, Facility Engineering, Real Estate, Front-end, Merchandising, Human Resources and Asset Protection teams to achieve targeted savings/revenue goals
  • Identify any areas for Budgeted Variable Expense and other variable cost savings; review and react to areas of unfavorable financial performances
  • Achieve financial expense budgets utilizing Kroger Way Plan, Financial Desktop, Progress Report, SOS Variable Expense Reports, Business Objects, Enterprise Period calls, Controllable Resource Guide, ESS Site, KTV, corporate ESS training, etc.
  • Maintain Budgeted Variable Expense Management 5NF lines and any annual initiatives
  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in store Operations and/or Front-end Operations
  • Any retail store management experience or comparable experience
  • Ability to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Objects, Financial Desktop and Store Dodeca
  • Must be creative and alert to new ways of approaching tasks and processes
  • Demonstrate initiative and leadership skills
  • Ability to be collaborate and work with and through various business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly organized and proficient at multi-tasking
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • Any store management, Retail Operations, or field specialist experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
