Business Services Director
Starting Pay: $68,000 – $76,000
The Salvation Army St. Joseph County Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is seeking a mission-aligned, strategic, and service-focused Business Services Director. This role provides leadership and support to Finance, Membership, and Business Systems functions, while ensuring excellence in all business operations of the Kroc Center. As a key member of the Executive Team, the Business Services Director helps ensure the mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out through sound stewardship and operational excellence.
What You Will Do- Partner with the Senior Kroc Center Officer, General Manager, and staff teams to develop fiscally responsible programs and budget requirements.
- Implement, monitor, and allocate facility resources in alignment with the annual budget.
- Provide oversight, coaching, and support to operational and business managers regarding budgeting, purchasing, staffing needs, and business development.
- Assist in developing and updating procedures and policies for each Center venue.
- Manage contracts, vendor agreements, and professional service relationships.
- Participate as an active member of the Executive Team, helping set priorities and organizational direction.
- Assist with the purchase of equipment and supplies in accordance with authorization and budget guidelines.
- Provide direct supervision to IT, Membership, and Accounting staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Education:
- BA in Business, Public Administration, or related field.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of The Salvation Army.
Experience:
- Progressive experience in developing and administering facility budgets.
- Experience managing staff across varied functions.
- Equivalent experience may be considered.
Certifications & Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain The Salvation Army’s driver qualification standard.
- Completion of Safe From Harm and CPR certifications within 30 days of employment.
- Successful completion of background checks.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new digital systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- IT, Membership, and Accounting staff.
- Ability to speak, hear, and see clearly.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
- May require standing, bending, squatting, and walking for periods of time.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based.
- Travel as needed.
