Join our early childhood education team as an Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistant! In this rewarding role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help lay the foundation for young children's growth and development. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in early childhood education while making a meaningful difference in children’s lives. We are looking for a reliable employee who must be able to work 2-4 days a week (all weekends and major holidays off) any time scheduled as early as 7:30 AM as late until 4:00 PM.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development for infants and toddlers
- Support daily routines such as feeding, diapering, potty training, nap times, and playtime with patience and care
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including proper sanitation practices
- Engage with children through interactive play, encouraging exploration and curiosity while fostering positive behavior management
- Observe and document children’s progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones to inform planning and communication with families
- Support classroom management by helping organize materials, set up learning stations, and ensure smooth transitions throughout the day
- Collaborate with team members to create inclusive activities that accommodate children with special needs or disabilities
Experience
- Prior experience working with children (daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or similar caregiving roles)
- Experience with infants and toddlers specifically in caregiving or classroom settings is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in early childhood development is a plus
- Certifications/clearances required (can help you receive these during hiring process)
- Annual physical with negative TB (tuberculosis), CPR certification, Health and Safety course, Child abuse, Criminal, fingerprints, recognizing and reporting child abuse
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children with diverse needs or disabilities
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with families and team members effectively
- Passion for nurturing young children’s growth through engaging activities and compassionate care
