Fast Food Crew Member

Position Summary

The Crew Member is responsible for providing friendly, fast, and accurate service while preparing high-quality smoothies and food according to Tropical Smoothie Cafe standards. This position plays an important role in creating a clean, welcoming environment and ensuring every guest has a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet every guest promptly with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Take guest orders accurately and operate the point-of-sale system.
• Prepare smoothies, wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads, bowls, and other menu items according to approved recipes.
• Follow all portioning, preparation, and presentation standards.
• Recommend menu items, add-ons, sides, loyalty membership, and promotional offers.
• Maintain speed of service while ensuring order accuracy and food quality.
• Keep the front counter, kitchen, dining room, restrooms, and beverage stations clean and organized.
• Wash dishes, sanitize equipment, and complete assigned cleaning duties.
• Follow food-safety, handwashing, temperature-control, and sanitation procedures.
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food using FIFO procedures.
• Restock ingredients, packaging, cups, napkins, and other supplies.
• Help receive and organize deliveries when requested.
• Follow cash-handling and loss-prevention procedures.
• Complete opening, shift-change, and closing checklists.
• Work cooperatively with managers and other team members.
• Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work.
• Immediately report equipment problems, safety concerns, guest complaints, or product-quality issues to a manager.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work as part of a team.
• Must communicate respectfully with guests, coworkers, and managers.
• Must be able to follow recipes, instructions, and food-safety procedures.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must meet all applicable age and employment requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry items weighing up to approximately 30–40 pounds.
• Ability to work around kitchen equipment, refrigeration units, cleaning products, and food ingredients.
• Ability to perform repetitive food-preparation and cleaning tasks.

Scheduling Requirements

Crew Members may be scheduled for mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, opening shifts, or closing shifts based on business needs. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
