Part-Time DSP / PCA Caregiver — Join My Team

I am looking for dependable, caring people to join my caregiving team as I prepare to return home.

I participate in the Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) program, which allows me to choose the people who provide my care and support. My fiscal support services are provided through ACCRA.

I have had a wonderful caregiver team in place, but after being in the hospital for several weeks, schedules and availability have changed. Some of my previous caregivers are still interested in working with me, and I am looking for additional people who may be a good fit for my team.

About the Position

I am very independent and enjoy making my own decisions and being in my own home. My caregivers provide the physical assistance I need to do the things I want and need to do each day.

This is a hands-on position that includes personal care, household tasks and companionship. I am looking for people who are patient, dependable, respectful and comfortable working as part of my team.

Days and hours will vary depending on my needs and caregiver availability. The position will include every other weekend and may include:

• Morning shifts
• Afternoon shifts
• Full-day shifts
• Overnight shifts

The exact schedule and number of available hours will be determined as my care needs and staffing plan are finalized.

What You May Help Me With

My caregivers assist with a variety of daily needs, including:

• Bathing, grooming and dressing
• Catheter care
• Assistance with bowel care
• Tracheostomy care
• Following my individual Care Plan
• Observing and reporting changes in my skin or overall health
• Preparing meals and basic cooking
• Household cleaning and everyday household tasks
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Helping with daily routines and necessities
• Providing companionship and positive interaction

Training Provided

You do not need to have experience with all of my specific care needs. Caregiving, PCA, DSP or long-term care experience is preferred, but I am willing to train the right person.

Extensive training will be provided for my individual care needs and routines. You will be trained on my Care Plan and the specific cares you will be responsible for.

Patience & Independence

Because I rely on my caregivers for physical assistance, I may need help with things throughout the day that other people are able to do for themselves. My caregivers are essentially my hands and legs when I need them.

At the same time, I am very independent and like to do as much as I can for myself. I am looking for caregivers who understand the difference between helping me and doing things for me. I appreciate people who are patient, listen to what I need and allow me to remain in control of my own choices and daily life.

A Little About My Home

I have a friendly Dachshund who lives with me, so you will need to be comfortable around dogs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
