Senior Systems Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and support the core IT infrastructure that powers Kripalu. In this role, you’ll apply your expertise in virtualization, networking, and Microsoft technologies to ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and scalable. From designing solutions to tackling complex challenges, you’ll be the trusted expert driving improvements that make a real impact across the organization. Additional key responsibilities include expanding the IT infrastructure as required to support business goals. This includes both on-premises and cloud systems. This position also provides second-level internal support for issues not immediately resolved by first-level Helpdesk support.

This role is suitable for hybrid work arrangements, which give employees the opportunity to work two days per week from home.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Administer and maintain physical and virtual servers.

· Manage SAN and NAS storage systems and enterprise backup solutions.

· Maintain thorough documentation of network configurations, procedures, and changes.

· Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

· Perform patching and updates for Linux, Windows, and SQL servers and other critical systems.

· Perform system hardening and vulnerability remediation.

· Provide level 2 & 3 support for infrastructure and business applications.

· Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.

· Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity/access controls.

· Design and maintain DR and BCP strategies.

· Conduct regular testing and validation of recovery procedures.

· Support hybrid environments and cloud migration initiatives.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Associate's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

· Over 2 years of experience working in system engineering and IT support.

· Experience with one of the virtualization platforms, VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix.

· Experience with firewalls, routers, switches, load-balancers, and other networking equipment from one of the vendors such as Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, HPE Aruba, Fortinet, F5, and Palo Alto Networks.

· Proven experience as a Network Engineer, cloud services experience is a plus.

· Technical expertise, including proficiency in Microsoft Server operating systems, Office 365, Active Directory, and Azure.

· A working understanding of code and script (PowerShell, Python, Bash, JavaScript, etc.)

· Knowledge of Endpoint security software, including MDM, EDR.

· Experience using enterprise helpdesk systems.

· Experience with Datto, Veeam, or similar backup solutions is a plus.

· Knowledge of VoIP technology, such as Vonage, RingCentral, Sangoma, Zoom Phone, or Microsoft Teams Phone, is a plus.

· Basic knowledge of DevOps methodology, network automation, and CI/CD tools, such as GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform, is a huge plus.

· CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, VMware certifications are preferred but not required.

· Requires sitting for prolonged periods, significant PC usage, and occasional lifting of items up to 50 lb.

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
