They are a core function of our anchor staff and newsroom.
This isn't a station where I want anchors to toss "...we'll get to the headlines but first here's weather."
The weather affects everyone if when it isn't severe. If weather leads the newscast they are the headline.
We're off the Gulf so knowledge of hurricanes is helpful and ability in severe weather is a must. We're the most trusted station in our market.
