What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Support Specialist position at KRG Enterprises?
Creating Retail Fixture Solutions since 1984
IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Full-Time · On-Site — Philadelphia, PA · $75,000–$85,000/year · Up to 15% Travel · Reports to the IT Manager
Every showcase, wall panel, and storefront fixture we build starts and ends with technology — the design files, the machines on our shop floor, and the people who keep projects moving from concept to installation. As we grow, our IT Manager needs a right hand: someone to own day-to-day support so our team never has to wait on technology to do their best work.
ABOUT KRG ENTERPRISESKRG Enterprises has been designing, engineering, and fabricating custom displays and fixtures for consumer environments since 1984 — metal, millwork, wall paneling, showcases, and signage for clients nationwide. With locations in Philadelphia and Tulsa, we take a 360 Degree Approach: design, value engineering, project management, sourcing, fabrication, shipping, and installation. What sets us apart is our people: our average employee has been with us 11 years, and our average client relationship spans 15. We are hands-on, process based, and relationship focused — and we build the future, together.
ABOUT THE ROLETwelve months in, success looks like this: you are the trusted first call for every technology issue in the company. Tickets get resolved quickly and documented well. New hires walk in on day one to a fully configured workstation. You have taken real ownership of user accounts, endpoints, and patching — freeing the IT Manager to focus on infrastructure and strategy — and you have built a knowledge base that makes the whole team more self-sufficient.
WHAT YOU'LL DO• Own the helpdesk queue — triage, prioritize, and resolve day-to-day issues including password resets, account lockouts, hardware faults, printers, and software problems across the office and shop floor.
• Set up, image, and deploy workstations and laptops; run the technology side of employee onboarding and offboarding from first login to equipment return.
• Administer user accounts and groups in Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID and support the Microsoft 365 environment (Outlook/Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Manage endpoints and keep them patched, secure, and compliant using our endpoint management tools.
• Troubleshoot first-level network issues — Wi-Fi, VPN connectivity, DNS/DHCP basics — and escalate deeper problems to the IT Manager or vendors with clear diagnostics.
• Support meeting rooms, AV, label printers, barcode scanners, and the production technology that keeps our shop running.
• Provide first-line support for our ERP and business applications — troubleshooting user issues, running SQL queries to investigate data questions, and debugging or tweaking small scripts and customizations when something breaks.
• Build and maintain documentation — knowledge base articles, asset inventory, and repeatable checklists — so fixes stick and knowledge is shared.
• Support IT projects and contribute to a secure, stable technology environment — assisting with rollouts, following security best practices, and coordinating with vendors when needed.
• 2 years of experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support role.
• Solid Windows 10/11 troubleshooting skills and experience supporting Microsoft 365.
• Experience working a ticketing system with strong documentation habits.
• A calm, patient, customer-first communication style — you can help a frustrated user and a shop-floor veteran with equal ease.
• Ability to work on-site full-time at our Philadelphia facility, prioritize tasks independently, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have• Experience supporting or administering an ERP system, especially in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
• Working knowledge of SQL — comfortable writing queries to look up and verify data.
• Experience building or maintaining reports with tools such as Crystal Reports, Power BI, Excel VBA, or DevExpress.
• Familiarity with one or more of VB.NET, VBA, C#, Python, or VBScript — enough to read existing code, debug a problem, and make a small change. We are not looking for a full-time developer, just someone who is not afraid to open the code.
• CompTIA A or Network , or Microsoft certifications (e.g., MD-102).
• Experience with Active Directory / Entra ID administration and endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune.
• Basic PowerShell scripting for everyday automation.
• Familiarity with network security practices and helping maintain a secure environment.
Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and cell phone reimbursement. You'll also join a company that invests in its people through cross-training and development programs.
