Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cable Technician to join our dynamic team. While experience is preferred, We will train candidates with a contruction, electrical, security sytem, or a strong willingness to learn a new skill that is always in high demand. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various telecommunication and network systems. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance for our clients’ communication infrastructure. Duties
- Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables, Ethernet cabling, and telecommunication lines across diverse environments.
- Perform fiber splicing to connect fiber optic strands with precision and care, ensuring high-quality signal transmission.
- Set up and configure network equipment including routers, switches, and other networking hardware.
- Conduct network installation projects, including running cables through walls, ceilings, and underground conduits.
- Use hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, and ohmmeters to prepare cables and verify electrical continuity.
- Diagnose electrical issues related to low voltage systems and resolve problems efficiently on-site.
- Maintain detailed documentation of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities for client records.
- Collaborate with field service teams to deliver timely solutions in telecommunication setups involving Ethernet, telephony, and other data systems.
- Carry 80 lbs. ladder, climbing utility poles to connect and test services
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician or cable technician working in telecommunications or networking environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to cabling infrastructure and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and network installation procedures.
- Familiarity with routers, switches, and computer networking principles.
- Knowledge of telecommunication standards including Ethernet wiring, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring.
- Ability to operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
- Prior field service experience working directly with clients in diverse locations is preferred.
- Electrical experience or background in telecommunications is highly desirable to ensure safety and quality standards are met. Requirements
- Must pass drug test and good driving record with a valid Ohio license
- Must have work truck, Vân or SUV that can carry a 28' ladder to perform daily routes, Drill and other necessary tools to perform work (1099 self employed position)
- Good communication skills and ability to explain the use of services requested.
Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,800.00 per week
