Kress is looking for a full time Paint Line Supervisor to join our team in the development of specialized industrial equipment for steel, construction, and mining industries.
The Paint Line Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the paint line within a heavy equipment manufacturing environment. This role ensures production schedules are met while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a working supervisory position responsible for leading paint line personnel while actively participating in daily paint line operations.

Paint Line Supervisor
Kress is looking for a full time Paint Line Supervisor to join our team in the development of specialized industrial equipment for steel, construction, and mining industries.
The Paint Line Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the paint line within a heavy equipment manufacturing environment. This role ensures production schedules are met while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a working supervisory position responsible for leading paint line personnel while actively participating in daily paint line operations.
Responsibilities –
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of paint line employees, including painters, prep technicians, and material handlers
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and minimizing downtime
- Monitor paint application processes including surface prep, priming, topcoat, curing, and inspection
- Enforce safety policies, PPE usage, and environmental compliance (OSHA, EPA, VOC standards)
- Troubleshoot paint defects, equipment issues, and process interruptions
- Train, coach, and evaluate paint line employees
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Maintain accurate production, scrap, and labor records
- Clean, sand, and coat parts with air powered equipment and tools, paint scrapers, and pneumatic paint guns
- Move totes, parts, and equipment using a pallet jack and/or fork lift
- Make adjustments to paint booth, guns, and all equipment
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or heavy equipment paint environment
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Knowledge of industrial coatings, paint systems, and finishing processes
- Ability to interpret quality standards, specifications, and blueprints
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
