Job Summary
The Production Operator at Kreider Farms plays a critical role in maintaining our high standards of food safety, quality, and sanitation in the milk processing and packaging operations. This position involves operating equipment, performing routine quality checks, and ensuring efficient and safe production in a variety of roles throughout the Milk Plant. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate processing and/or packaging equipment in the case room, bottle room, box room, or filler areas.
- Perform quality control checks and follow Autonomous Maintenance Program (AMP) procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Report any food safety or quality issues immediately to a supervisor or the person in charge.
- Follow all plant safety procedures and participate in safety training.
- Operate a forklift as needed (training provided).
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Milk Plant Manager or supervisor.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of work experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and write in English and perform basic math.
- Basic computer skills and ability to find/search information.
- Familiarity with GMPs, SQF standards, and continuous improvement practices is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, bend, squat, twist, reach, push/pull, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Perform repetitive motions and demonstrate endurance throughout the shift.
- Requires good eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Work in confined spaces as needed and trained.
- Operate in variable temperatures ranging from 32°F to 90°F.
- Exposure to noise, vibration, and other typical environmental conditions of a food processing plant.
Schedule: Monday- Friday
Shift: 6:00 am- 2:00 pm
