Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (Weekend) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized assistance. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health status by observing patient behavior and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Provide meal preparation and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring nutritional needs are met
- Support residents during activities and social engagements to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning duties in accordance with health standards
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies
- Respond promptly to emergencies using CPR or first aid skills when necessary
- Collaborate with team members, family members, and healthcare professionals to develop and follow personalized care plans
Qualifications
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care is highly desirable
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training preferred; willingness to obtain certifications if not already held
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for resident transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with residents experiencing memory loss or cognitive impairments
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified care
- Flexibility to work weekends as part of a rotating schedule; reliable transportation is preferred for community-based roles
