Job Description

The Quality Associate is responsible for monitoring the quality of products during the production process in Kreate’s plastic injection molding manufacturing facility. They will conduct regular quality checks, perform first article qualifications and inspections, communicate any out-of-spec products to the production team, maintain quality records, ensure proper pack outs for finished goods, verify adherence to work instructions, perform material checks, and support training documentation through SOP and One Point Lesson (OPL) creation. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8AM – 5PM. Flexibility in work hours is required as needed to support production and work alongside the night shift.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Monitor the quality of products during the production process in a plastic injection molding manufacturing facility.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet specified standards and specifications.
• Perform and document First Article (FA) qualifications and inspections at product start-up, changeovers, and when required by the quality process.
• Verify First Article results against approved specifications, drawings, samples, work instructions, and other applicable quality requirements before production continues.
• Communicate any products that are out of specification to the appropriate members of the production team and assist with containment and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all quality checks, First Article inspections, measurements, and quality concerns.
• Perform material checks to verify correct material identification, lot information, color, resin type, regrind/reprocessed material requirements, and other applicable material specifications before and during production.
• Verify that production associates follow work instructions correctly to maintain product quality.
• Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to quality and production processes as assigned.
• Create and maintain One Point Lessons (OPLs) for training purposes, including clear instructions and visual information when applicable.
• Support the development and implementation of training materials related to product quality, inspection requirements, material identification, and process standards.
• Be present at the production line during product changeovers to ensure proper setup and availability of tools, inspection requirements, and instructions.
• Ensure proper pack outs are completed for finished goods, following established guidelines.
• Collaborate with the production team to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with the production team.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Superior attention to detail to accurately identify product defects and inconsistencies.
• Ability to consistently lift up to 35 lbs.
• The ability to perform physical activities including prolonged standing, squatting, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to perform basic math skills.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molding quality requirements, inspection methods, and basic measurement techniques preferred.
• Ability to read and follow drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards preferred.
• Ability to document First Article inspections, material checks, and quality results accurately.
