Support the construction project teams and requiring a customer focused mindset; the Sr. Schedule Mgr. is primarily responsible for the oversight of the creation and maintenance of project schedules. Helping our teams translate their construction planning work into the contract schedule, developing, maintaining, and enforcing schedule standards, as well as providing training support to all operations leaders in our organization.

Planning, Preconstruction and Project Execution
- Provide schedule support for preconstruction efforts and project pursuits. Work with Project Managers to create the appropriate level of detail for the initial schedule and assist with schedule development as the project moves through the design process.
- Integrate and relate design and material procurement activities to the appropriate construction activities in the schedule.
- Support on-site project planning sessions with construction teams and trade partners that are designed to create a buildable plan that fits in the allocated time for the construction schedule.
- Translate construction building planning sessions into a buildable, contract schedule that all project stakeholders can readily utilize in the field.
- Coordinate with Building Information Modeling (BIM) team if utilized to integrate realized efficiency of BIM solutions into construction plan and schedule.
- Monitor, provide support to project teams, and report on schedule quality and risk across all active projects through our schedule quality platform (Schedule Validator), tracking completeness and adherence to company standards, and keeping operations leaders informed on the company's overall scheduling health.
- Verify with project teams that their construction schedule is fully compliant with all owner contract requirements, update frequencies, and any required formatting.
- Assist project teams with developing and creating change order schedule impacts, delay documentation, and claim management.
- Administer the companies schedule quality platform (Schedule Validator) by communicating it’s use to the company, monitoring and supporting project team inputs, provide coaching on metrics, maintain users, and partner with vendor to ensure platform operates smoothly
- Identify opportunities for improvement across all aspects of schedule development and management, develop countermeasures, and implement solutions.
- Develop, publish, and maintain schedule templates, layouts, calendars, resources, codes, and other database components for use by project teams.
- Partner with senior leadership to update and deliver our scheduling training program for both project leaders and senior leadership. Modes of delivery including both online and in-person instruction, on demand video content, and resources hosted through the company LMS.
- Conduct initial training sessions for all new hires covering Kraus-Anderson’s (KA) schedule guidelines and use of schedule quality platform.
- Stay current with industry scheduling standards, tools, and best practices by engaging with professional organizations, monitoring developments in construction scheduling technology, and bringing relevant insights back to the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 10 years of construction operations leadership (Scheduling, Superintendent, or Project Manager) experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, submittals, specifications, and contracts to determine schedule scope and contract requirements.
- Deep understanding of the design, procurement, and construction processes and how they interact together.
- Able to create and update high quality critical path schedules in Microsoft project, Primavera P6 / OCS, all related schedule applications.
- An effective communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent inter-personal skills capable of clearly communicating technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines all while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Able to effectively Identify technical schedule issues and communicates quickly and accurately to Project Manager, including proposed solutions.

- Bachelor’s degree from four year college/university or equivalent.
- Have practiced or implemented a construction production control system, such as Last Planner System, takt planning, or others.
- Understand the benefits of production areas and ability to create a work breakdown structure based around area control.
- Familiar with industry recognized scheduling quality metrics and how they build better schedules.
- Literacy around data interpretation of schedule metrics, and how to use metrics to improve schedules at the project and company level.
- Proficient in utilization of Schedule Validator, SmartPM, or similar.
- Relevant professional certification(s) in scheduling or project controls.
- Valid Driver's License, ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to adhere to KA’s Motor Vehicle Policy.
- Travel – between 40% to 60% to local projects (Minnesota), occasional travel to regional offices (10%-15%)
