What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst position at Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Inc?
Kratos Defense and Rocket Support Services is currently seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst. The FP&A Analyst supports the Finance team by providing financial insights, forecasting, and analytical support to drive strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with the VP of Finance and Operations and cross-functional leaders to monitor performance, develop budgets, and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and annual budgets
- Analyze monthly financial results and variances against budget and prior periods
- Prepare and deliver financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership
- Support long-range planning and strategic initiatives
- Partner with business units to provide financial guidance and improve performance
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis
- Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting processes
- Improve and streamline financial processes, tools, and reporting capabilities

Required Experience:
Qualifications:
- Bacheloris degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related role (experience with government contracting and rate pools is a plus)
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with financial systems (e.g., ERP, BI tools) preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting senior leadership or executive teams
- Expereince supporting government contracts
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience with tools such as Power BI, Cost Point/Deltek
