Job Description

Position Overview: At Kratos, our mission is built on the resolve to innovate in defense, aerospace, and cybersecurity. We are seeking a detail-oriented Proposal Coordinator who will provide critical support to our business development and capture management efforts. The successful candidate will assist the Proposal Manager with tasks ranging from developing compliance matrices and performing document reviews to creating standardized templates and maintaining an organized proposal library. Pursuit opportunities will vary greatly across the Kratos defense market portfolio, and Proposal Coordinator activities will be adjusted to put Kratos in the best position to win. This position requires an adaptable individual who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and comfortable working extra hours when necessary to deliver mission-critical proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage detailed compliance matrices, perform thorough document reviews, and create standardized proposal templates that align with solicitation requirements.
• Assist with final production tasks by formatting, proofreading, and ensuring the accuracy of all proposal documentation.
• Maintain an organized archive of proposal documents and related materials.
  
  

Collaboration & Coordination:

• Provide consistent and effective support to the Proposal Manager and work closely with the designated Technical Writer & Capture Manager.
• Help coordinate and track key proposal milestones and deadlines to ensure timely and compliant submissions.
• Contribute to meetings and process reviews to continuously improve proposal development procedures.
  
  

Technical Proficiency & Software Utilization:

• Utilize advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong emphasis on Adobe InDesign (INDD), to produce high-quality layout and graphic elements.
• Employ expert skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard office applications to draft, track, and analyze proposal data.
• Quickly adapt to new digital tools that enhance the proposal development process.
• Demonstrate intelligent use of AI tools for drafting and research, ensuring the outputs undergo rigorous fact-checking and validation.
• Stay current on best practices for AI prompting and data integrity to support accurate and efficient proposal development.
  
  

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide ad hoc support and contribute to process improvements as needed across various aspects of proposal management.
• Support overall team efforts through a proactive, solutions-oriented approach when general assistance is required.
  
  

Experience And Skills

Qualifications & Core Competencies:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, English, or a related field is preferred. (Candidates with an Associate’s Degree plus relevant experience will also be considered.)
  
  

Experience:

• 3-5 years experience in proposal development or related work, with an emphasis on managing detailed documentation and compliance requirements.
• Practical proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, and similar software applications is essential.
• Familiarity with government proposals and solicitation documents is an asset.
