💼 Position Overview

We are seeking two (2) Senior Database Developers to support the modernization and maintenance of the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS).

This role is ideal for a highly experienced SQL Server professional with strong SSIS/SSRS expertise, deep performance-tuning skills, and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

You will work alongside cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions, modernize ETL pipelines, improve performance, and ensure reliability and security across mission-critical state systems.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ SQL Server Development & Optimization

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases (2012, 2019, 2022).
• Build advanced stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers.
• Perform performance tuning including index optimization & execution plan analysis.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure high database availability.

2️⃣ SSIS & SSRS Development

• Develop and optimize SSIS ETL workflows and data integration pipelines.
• Create and maintain SSRS dashboards and operational reports.
• Manage automated ETL/report schedules, deployments, and version control.

3️⃣ Data Quality, Governance & Security

• Implement data validation, profiling, cleansing, and quality checks.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, encryption, auditing, and access control.

4️⃣ Agile/Scrum Participation

• Work with product owners, business analysts, and development teams to define requirements.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies: planning, standups, refinement, reviews.
• Deliver incremental work aligned with Agile practices.

5️⃣ DevOps & CI/CD Support

• Use Jira Software for issue tracking and sprint planning.
• Leverage Azure DevOps (ADO) for pipelines, version control, and work item management.
• Support continuous improvement of automated build/deployment processes.

6️⃣ Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with dev, infrastructure, and BI teams to ensure smooth integration.
• Provide production support and perform root-cause analysis for DB issues.
• Contribute to long-term modernization and architectural planning.

🔑 Required Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server 2012, 2019, 2022.
• Strong expertise in SSIS and SSRS development and optimization.
• Advanced SQL Server performance tuning & indexing experience.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Proficiency with Jira Software for task tracking.
• Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO): repos, pipelines, CI/CD.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
