- Develop ETL jobs using Azure Data Factory or Informatica converting legacy data into future-state data model Collaborate with Data Conversion Analysts to establish comprehensive documentation for all data migration processes and procedures, including data conversion plans, detailed data mapping documents, and operational playbooks. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure seamless data integration. Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges related to data migration, implementing effective solutions to maintain project momentum. Communicate project status, challenges, and successes clearly and concisely to all relevant stakeholders. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to document tasks clearly, engage with stakeholders, and actively contribute to a collaborative team environment while embracing feedback and continuous learning.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience data conversion and data cleansing activities. Proven experience with phased data migration, including data bridging and synchronization between disparate systems. Experience in maintaining documentation of data migration processes and procedures, including data conversion plans, data mapping documents, and playbooks. Prior experience working with a state agency department, preferably within the child/family or human services domain, is highly desirable. Knowledge of or experience with IBM IMS/DB2 data structures is highly desirable.
- ETL Fundamentals: Solid understanding of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, with hands-on exposure to building and supporting data pipelines under supervision. SQL Proficiency: Foundational skills in writing SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and validation across relational databases. Data Pipeline Development: Basic to intermediate knowledge of designing and maintaining data workflows that support structured data movement and transformation. Data Quality Awareness: Understanding of core data quality principles including data validation, cleansing, and integrity checks. Data Architecture Exposure: Awareness of data layer concepts such as staging, operational data stores (ODS), and enterprise data warehouses (EDW). Data Management Concepts: Introductory knowledge of data lifecycle management, metadata, and master data management (MDM) practices. Project Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within Agile or Waterfall project environments, contributing to planning, testing, and documentation. Technical Tool Familiarity: Exposure to ETL tools (e.g., Informatica or Azure Data Factory), and basic understanding of data profiling and transformation utilities. Analytical Thinking: Ability to investigate data issues, follow root cause analysis steps, and assist in implementing data-driven solutions.
