Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Crusher Operator to oversee the daily operation, production, and maintenance of a portable aggregate crushing plant. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment, maximizing plant production, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring the plant operates efficiently with minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate has experience with jaw and cone crushers, screening plants, conveyors, and heavy equipment in a quarry or aggregate environment. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who can operate equipment while taking ownership of the crushing operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe and efficient daily operation of the crushing plant.
• Operate wheel loaders, excavators, and dozers as needed.
• Feed and monitor jaw crushers, cone crushers, screens, conveyors, and stacking equipment.
• Maximize plant production while maintaining product quality.
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on crushing equipment and heavy machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and conveyor issues to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Inspect wear parts and replace liners, belts, bearings, screens, rollers, and other components as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all MSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Train and assist other plant personnel as needed.
• Report equipment issues, production data, and maintenance needs to management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of aggregate crushing plant experience preferred.
• Experience operating loaders, excavators, and dozers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair crushing plant equipment.
• Experience with portable jaw crushers, cone crushers, screening plants, conveyors, and stackers.
• Welding, fabrication, and equipment repair experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and perform preventative maintenance.
• Valid driver's license.
• MSHA certification preferred or ability to obtain.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders, walk on uneven terrain, and work around heavy equipment.
• Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends when production requires.
