Position Summary
Location: On-site with domestic and international travel
The Weapon Systems Instructor – Level II serves as a senior instructor and deployment lead within the Kraken Kinetics Training Division. Reporting to the Director of Training, this role independently leads domestic and international New Equipment Training (NET) events, serves as a live-fire safety authority, and mentors junior instructors.
Level II Instructors maintain advanced proficiency across Kraken Kinetics product lines and partner platform integrations. In addition to executing training, this role contributes to the refinement of doctrine, courseware, and training publications while providing operational feedback to engineering and leadership teams.
This position represents Kraken Kinetics as a senior field authority during customer engagements and training events and ensures instruction meets the highest professional and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Training Execution & Deployment Leadership
- Lead domestic and international New Equipment Training (NET) events.
- Deliver instruction on system integration, tactical employment, and operational best practices.
- Serve as the on-site training lead during customer engagements when designated.
- Coordinate training timelines, instructional resources, and execution during deployment events.
- Serve as live-fire safety authority during training and certification events when designated.
- Enforce safety protocols, range governance procedures, and risk mitigation standards.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with kinetic system employment and multi-platform integrations.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of Kraken Kinetics product lines and partner platform integrations.
- Understand mechanical, electrical, and fire control integration considerations across supported systems.
- Troubleshoot integration issues in coordination with engineering teams and partner representatives.
- Assist in refining courseware, operator manuals, and integration guides.
- Contribute to training doctrine and program standardization efforts.
- Participate in instructor certification boards and evaluation events.
- Mentor and evaluate Weapon Systems Instructor – Level I personnel.
- Provide structured operational feedback to engineering regarding system performance, usability, and employment considerations.
- Document platform integration challenges and recommend improvements to training materials or system integration processes.
- Represent Kraken Kinetics during domestic and international customer engagements.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, operational credibility, and safety leadership.
- Coordinate with partner organizations and vendor personnel during joint training activities.
Required
- Demonstrated experience with controlled kinetic systems, weaponized UAS platforms, or munitions integration.
- Prior experience serving in a senior instructor, evaluator, or team-lead role in a military or comparable operational environment.
- Experience leading training events in live-fire or high-risk operational environments.
- Strong understanding of risk mitigation, range governance, and safety authority responsibilities.
- Ability to independently deploy and represent Kraken Kinetics during domestic and international engagements.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally in support of training events. (50%)
- Veteran with senior-level experience in combat arms, EOD, fires, SOF, tactical UAS, or related operational specialties.
- Experience with kinetic drone employment and fire control system integration across multiple platforms.
- Prior designation as a live-fire range safety authority or equivalent.
- Experience developing or refining TTPs, SOPs, or formal training doctrine.
- Experience mentoring junior instructors or leading small training teams.
- Experience supporting international partner training engagements.
