What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Infrastructure Engineering position at Kraftel Infrastructure Engineering?
About the Role:
Ontario, California is one of Southern California’s fastest-growing infrastructure hubs, and at Kraftel Infrastructure Engineering, we bring that same level of growth mindset and precision to every engineering project we deliver. We design and manage large-scale infrastructure systems that support communities, transportation networks, and essential utilities. We believe infrastructure should be as forward-thinking as the cities it serves.
We are looking for a Director of Infrastructure Engineering who can take full ownership of our engineering strategy and execution. You are not just overseeing projects—you are defining how infrastructure is planned, delivered, and scaled across multiple high-impact programs. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, bridge the gap between technical complexity and executive decision-making, and serve as the key authority on infrastructure delivery excellence.
Why Work With Us?
The Impact: You will lead infrastructure programs that directly shape transportation systems, utilities, and community development across Ontario and surrounding regions. Your work has visible, long-term impact.
Leadership Authority: This is a true decision-making role. You will have autonomy over engineering direction, project execution strategies, and technical standards from day one.
High-Performance Culture: We value engineering excellence, accountability, and clear execution. You will work alongside experienced professionals who take pride in delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.
Complex, Meaningful Work: You will lead multi-phase, multi-stakeholder infrastructure projects that require both technical depth and strategic leadership.
Growth Opportunity: This role is positioned for senior executive progression, with exposure to major capital programs and organizational leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Leadership: Lead and oversee all infrastructure engineering operations, including civil, transportation, and utility-related projects.
Project Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction and delivery.
Team Management: Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring high performance, technical accuracy, and professional development.
Strategic Planning: Define engineering priorities, delivery frameworks, and long-term infrastructure strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with clients, municipalities, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project alignment and approval.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure all engineering outputs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Budget & Resource Management: Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery.
Technical Authority: Provide final review and approval of engineering designs, reports, and technical documentation.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: 10 years in civil engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related disciplines, with proven leadership experience.
Leadership Background: Experience managing engineering teams, large infrastructure programs, or multi-project portfolios.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in civil infrastructure systems such as transportation, utilities, public works, or municipal engineering.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Licensing: Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
Execution Mindset: You are decisive, structured, and capable of balancing technical depth with strategic leadership.
