Accounts Payable Specialist

Kraft Tool Company is a manufacturer and distributor of quality concrete and construction hand tools for professional and homeowner use. Kraft Tool is principally located in Shawnee, Kansas. For over 45 years, Kraft Tool has been a trusted name in the hand tool industry.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will perform multiple functions of accounts payable including entry and processing of payments, verifying, and reconciling invoices and credit card charges, and responding to vendor inquiries in a timely manager.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Process invoices for payment. This includes coding and keying of invoices into the accounting system.
• Resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal departments when needed.
• Verify accuracy of invoices, quantities, pricing, and GL coding.
• Process regular AP check runs.
• Manage 1099's and reporting to include obtaining W-9's prior to payment.
• Processing and managing company supplied credit cards used for purchases from vendors.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve accounts payable questions professionally and promptly.
• Ensure all corporate credit card transactions are entered and the company’s expense policies are followed.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.
• Maintain organized digital and paper records in accordance with company policies and retention requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• High School education is required.
• Strong, hands-on experience with 3 years in accounts payable, attention to detail and accuracy.
• General understanding on payable process and accounting principles.
• Proficient in communicating through email and ability to professionally correspond with vendors.
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple competing priorities under short deadlines.
• Must protect organizations/department value by keeping information confidential.
• Excellent people skills with a positive customer service approach
• Excellent computer skills required, including Excel and Outlook, Acumatica knowledge
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
