KPMG is currently seeking a Temporary Senior Engineer, Technology Operations Center for a nine-month assignment to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor infrastructure, applications, and network systems using enterprise tools (for example: ServiceNow, SolarWinds, SCOM, Uptrends, Squaredup); respond to alerts and incidents, perform initial triage, and escalate as necessary
- Maintain situational awareness of the IT environment and provide real-time updates to stakeholders; collaborate with support teams to resolve issues and restore services quickly; participate in shift rotations to provide 24x7 coverage
- Support change enablement activities and ensure proper validation and communication; generate and distribute operational reports and metrics
- Continuously improve monitoring and alerting capabilities; escalate incidents to the appropriate engineering disciplines within the organization or external vendors as required to achieve resolution
- Use standard runbooks to mitigate or resolve incident and support requests and escalate to appropriate teams as necessary; participate in and track incidents from inception to resolution, including root cause analysis; support continuous improvement to internal processes
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
- Minimum three years of recent experience in IT operations, NOC/TOC, or systems monitoring
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required; Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Network , or similar are a plus
- Experience supporting other technologies such as IIS, VMware, Network, Cisco routers/ switches, Palo Alto Firewalls; proven experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus
- Knowledge of monitoring platforms and analysis applications such as ServiceNow, SolarWinds, SCOM, Uptrends, Squaredup; some familiarity of databases such as SQL and Oracle servers is a plus
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; keen attention to detail and willingness to learn; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving, organizational and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; capability to build productive relationships with peers
