KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate - Trade & Customs (Japanese Speaking) to join our Trade and Customs practice.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice to clients in a variety of industries, on import and export matters
- Examine U.S. and international import and export trade matters
- Research, write, and review international trade advice
- Formulate ideas and deliver possible trade savings opportunities
- Aid in the development and training of team members; Senior Associate may train and mentor junior staff
- Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget; maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and satisfaction
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
- Minimum of three years of recent experience with import/export in the field of trade and customs as a customs attorney, customs broker, industry trade specialist, US Customs auditor, or import specialist, which may include, experience in The Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, entry processes, valuation, and other trade matters; minimum three years of recent experience with import/export in the field of trade and customs for Senior Associate
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and/or a Certified Public Accountant, Juris Doctor or a Master's degree from an accredited college/university in international trade
- Fluent in Japanese and English required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Access; strong interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication/presentation skills
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
