KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Political Compliance to join our Legal, Regulatory & Compliance organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compliance advice related to federal, state, and local lobbying; give approvals for lobbying meetings in the firm's Political Risk and Compliance System (PRACS)
- Complete federal lobbying (LDA) registration and reporting filings; gather information to be used for state and local lobbying reports; facilitate communications between KPMG teams and third-party compliance vendor
- Review gifts compliance matters and prepare approvals for KPMG and personal gifts to government employees as well as events where government employees are going to be in attendance
- Handle state and local pay-to-play and campaign finance compliance, including approvals for KPMG partnership and personal contributions
- Offer political compliance certifications (for example: gift, lobbying, and contributions) in connection with state and local government proposals and contracts
- Manage KPMG's political compliance systems with an eye towards implementing AI tools
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
- Minimum seven years of recent political compliance experience preferably within a large company, professional services firm, lobbying firm, law firm, or trade association and demonstrable knowledge of federal, state, and/or local political compliance issues related to lobbying, gifts, and political contributions
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with an active bar license is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with AI tools such as Gemini and Co-Pilot
- Capability to exercise independent judgment related to complex compliance matters with a strong commitment to ethical conduct
- Be a natural problem solver with the ability to navigate business needs while maintaining fidelity to the letter and spirit of the law; strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail; able to work in a fast-paced environment
