KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, People Relations to join our Talent and Culture organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee employee relations cases of moderate to high complexity; consult with OGC as appropriate, and counsel leaders and employees through difficult situations by interpreting and applying comprehensive knowledge of firm and HR policies
  • Lead internal investigations, serving as a subject matter expert in employment practices and policies while addressing complex employee relations issues to mitigate risk and help bring issues to a successful resolution
  • Advise on complex investigations in a variety of matters, including violation of firm policy or procedure, perceived unfair treatment, and unlawful workplace activity
  • Review performance management documents, manage conflicts among employees, oversee and advise on AWAs, and evaluate requests for accommodations; support emergency response/crisis management cases (for example, wellbeing), employee separations, FMLA, leaves of absence, transfers, relocations, and review outside employment requests
  • Provide guidance to Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates on complex issues to help ensure optimal client / employee experience
  • Support annual performance assessment and salary review process in conjunction with HRBAs, as needed; provide regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis of team workload, progression of performance cases, and more
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of recent HR or comparable experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university preferably in human resource management, organizational development, or business administration, or the equivalent work experience; master's degree from an accredited college/university in an HR-related field, or PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles, HR-related laws and regulations, and employee engagement strategy; able to build and maintain relationships with the firm's partners and employees; ability to question the status quo when it no longer serves the best interests of the firm
  • Capability to coach and train individuals in critical HR competencies; able to develop clear and concise written communications and prepare performance documentation; strong background in Employee Relations; excellent at managing a high volume of work consistently
  • Experience managing HR functions; creative problem-solving skills, recruiting and interviewing skills; effective at negotiating with and influencing clients; platform and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft; highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
