KPMG is currently seeking an Intern, Legal, Risk Management and Compliance for the Office of Government Affairs.
Responsibilities
- Assist KPMGs in house public policy professionals to cover and report legislative activity on Capitol Hill; this will require a review of legislative reporting by media outlets and reviewing hearing and markup schedules in both House and Senate
- Attend and report on Congressional hearings and floor debates; this will require physical attendance at specific committee hearings and capturing notes and other insights
- Research legislative activity including the monitoring of introduced legislation, committee action and floor debates
- Provide policy assessments on an as needed basis
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration, Public Policy, International Politics, Political Science or equivalent program
- Current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above
- Ability to navigate MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
- Strong in technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment
- Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player and resourceful in delivering high quality work
- Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need; you must be located within the U.S. when working remotely; client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay
