Senior Data Governance Engineer (Microsoft Purview)

Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Purview to support enterprise data governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in implementing, maintaining, and enhancing Purview solutions, along with strong data engineering and automation capabilities.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data governance
- 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, including:
- Collections
- Scanners
- Metadata Catalog
- Classifications
- Glossary
- Lineage
- Strong experience troubleshooting and optimizing:
- Scan failures
- Lineage issues
- Metadata inconsistencies
- Experience building automation using Purview REST APIs and SDKs
- Hands-on experience with Purview Data Quality:
- Profiling
- Rules
- Thresholds
- Monitoring
- Experience with Purview Workflow for governance automation and approvals
- Ability to build dashboards and reports using Microsoft Fabric
- Strong knowledge of Azure and AWS data services
- Proficiency in Python
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Background in financial services technology (plus)
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
