Position Overview
The Physical Therapy – Therapy Director is a dual-role position combining direct patient care with therapy leadership and staff development responsibilities. This role is ideal for a Physical Therapist who wants to maintain an active caseload while helping lead, mentor, and develop the therapy team in the Prescott market.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care
- Complete Physical Therapy home health visits in accordance with physician orders and plans of care
- Perform evaluations, reassessments, recertifications, and discharge planning
- Supervise and collaborate with PTAs in compliance with Arizona practice standards
- Communicate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in the EMR
- Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and payer guidelines
Therapy Leadership & Staff Development
- Lead onboarding, mentorship, and field training for PTs and PTAs in the Prescott market
- Serve as the primary clinical resource for therapy staff
- Support clinical competency, documentation quality, and best-practice adherence
- Assist with performance improvement initiatives and corrective action when needed
- Promote consistency in therapy workflows and care delivery
Operational Collaboration
- Partner with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, and executive leadership
- Assist with therapy staffing, coverage planning, and market growth strategy
- Support census growth while maintaining quality and compliance standards
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and patient-centered team culture
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Physical Therapist license in good standing
- Minimum 1–2 years of Physical Therapist experience (home health strongly preferred)
- Prior leadership, mentoring, or preceptor experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to balance clinical productivity with leadership responsibilities
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the Prescott service area
- Home health EMR experience preferred
