Position Summary
KPEP is seeking a dynamic and strategic President to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact. The President serves as the executive leader responsible for overall day to day operations; organizational management, strategic direction, program oversight, financial stewardship, and community partnerships.
Working closely with the Board of Directors and the CEO, the President ensures the organization operates effectively, maintains strong fiscal management, and delivers high-quality programs aligned with KPEP’s mission and contractual obligations. This role requires a leader who can balance strategic vision with operational excellence, inspire staff, cultivate partnerships, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership & Strategy
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the organization.
- Implement policies and priorities established by the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Develop and implement systems to evaluate organizational performance and program outcomes.
- Ensure effective daily operations across all programs and departments.
Board & Governance
- Prepare and present written and verbal reports to the CEO and Board.
- Collaborate with the Finance Committee to develop the annual organizational budget.
- Support the Board in strategic planning and policy development.
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Oversee financial management, budgeting, and fiscal accountability.
- Maintain accurate and complete organizational records related to personnel, accounting, client services, and operational activities.
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, including oversight of CRS/BOP contracts.
- Conduct regular program and documentation reviews, including monthly audits of programming.
Staff Leadership & Organizational Culture
- Provide supervision and leadership to Program Managers and assigned staff.
- Ensure personnel policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
- Foster a professional, accountable, and mission-focused organizational culture.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Represent KPEP in the community and strengthen program partnerships and collaborations.
- Serve as a liaison with building tenants regarding facility needs and maintenance coordination.
Reporting & Accountability
- Prepare and submit monthly activity and operational reports.
- Monitor program outcomes and ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Two (2) years of management/corrections experience
- In lieu of the above qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree
- Five (5) years of management/corrections experience
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of executive leadership experience, operational management expertise, and strong community engagement skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Proven leadership experience in nonprofit, public service, or behavioral health organizations
- Experience working with a Board of Directors and governing committees
- Strong financial and budget management experience
- Experience overseeing programs, contracts, and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop leadership staff
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities
