Role Description The Chief Compliance Officer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. This role oversees the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the firm’s compliance program, ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies across all private fund activities and technology platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring regulatory developments, conducting compliance risk assessments, drafting and updating policies and procedures, and performing periodic reviews and audits of business practices. The Chief Compliance Officer collaborates closely with senior leadership, legal counsel, operations, and investor relations teams to provide compliance guidance, support product development, and maintain robust controls around onboarding, reporting, and custodian integrations. The role also includes training team members on compliance standards, managing regulatory filings, and preparing reports for executive management and, where applicable, regulators and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Strong compliance management skills, including experience designing, leading, and maintaining firm-wide compliance programs for private funds or similar financial institutions.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements relevant to alternative investments, private funds, and digital investment platforms, with a proven ability to interpret and implement evolving regulations.
  • Advanced analytical skills to assess compliance risks, evaluate control effectiveness, interpret complex data and reports, and recommend practical, risk-based solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder education, policy drafting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Solid understanding of private fund structures, alternative investment products, and key operational workflows, including investor onboarding, reporting, AML/KYC, and custodian integrations.
  • Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., JD, CPA, CFA, CAMS, IACCP®) are preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience in a senior compliance role within asset management, private funds, registered investment advisers, or financial services, ideally in a technology-enabled or digital platform environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain the highest ethical standards, and balance regulatory requirements with practical business objectives.
  • Experience interacting with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including regulatory examinations, ADV filings, and ongoing compliance obligations for registered investment advisers.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with compliance, CRM, document management, and workflow technologies is preferred. 
  • Comfortable working with and in AI-driven environment.
  • Willing to innovate and reimagine the way things have always been done.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
