Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Private Caregiver to provide personalized, high-quality care to an adult male with autism in our home and in community settings. This vital role involves supporting his daily activities, ensuring his safety, and promoting his overall well-being. As a Private Caregiver, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for this individual by delivering attentive, respectful, and professional care tailored to his needs. Responsibilities
- Assist client with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Monitor his health status by observing any signs of distress and recognizing changes that require medical attention
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and social engagement
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, observations, and any incidents or changes in mood
- Assist with shared housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or autism disorders, or in senior care environments such as assisted living, nursing homes, or as an au pair
- Understanding of service dog use and care
- Strong communication skills for client interaction, family updates, and team collaboration
- Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; additional certifications related to home health or hospice are a plus
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed
- Must have vehicle with valid license and insurance.
- Must submit to drug testing, background check, and DMV report.
