Position Overview:
The Warehouse Lead oversees daily warehouse operations in a cabinet manufacturing or distribution environment. This role ensures efficient inventory management, accurate order fulfillment, and safe handling of cabinet components and finished products. The Warehouse Lead works closely with team members to coordinate receiving, storage, staging, and shipping activities while maintaining quality standards and workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, train, and motivate warehouse associates to achieve productivity and accuracy goals.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for warehouse staff when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable.
Operations & Logistics
- Oversee receiving, put-away, picking, staging, and shipping of cabinet materials, hardware, and finished goods.
- Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately, packed securely, and shipped on schedule.
- Coordinate with production, installation, and delivery teams to ensure workflow alignment.
- Operate and oversee the safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with the Inventory or Purchasing team.
- Ensure all products are properly labeled, organized, and stored according to layout and safety standards.
Quality & Safety
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, defects, or quality issues.
- Enforce warehouse safety procedures and promote a clean, organized workspace.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Administration
- Complete daily and weekly reports on productivity, inventory status, and order accuracy.
- Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with management to streamline warehouse processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Experience in cabinet manufacturing, woodworking, or building materials preferred.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills (Excel, email, etc.).
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification a plus).
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
