Assistant Teacher/Floater

Position Summary

The Assistant Teacher at Kozy Kove supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. This role focuses on fostering development through play-based learning, building positive relationships with children and families, and ensuring each child feels valued, supported, and cared for.

Key Responsibilities

Child Care & Supervision

• Provide attentive, compassionate care to all children at all times
• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
• Assist with daily routines including meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, and transitions
• Maintain active supervision and follow all safety and licensing guidelines

Play-Based Learning Support

• Assist in implementing age-appropriate, play-based learning activities
• Encourage creativity, exploration, and problem-solving through guided play
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Help prepare and maintain classroom materials and learning spaces

Family & Child Relationships

• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and team members
• Communicate effectively with families regarding daily activities and child progress
• Support a welcoming and inclusive environment for all families
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times

Creating a Nurturing Environment

• Foster a warm, loving, and supportive atmosphere where children feel safe and valued
• Model kindness, patience, and positive behavior guidance
• Support children in developing independence and confidence
• Respond to children’s needs with sensitivity and care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with young children is preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passion for early childhood development and play-based learning
• Ability to lift, bend, and be active throughout the day

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
