What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Hot Foods - Oak Park Heights Flexible Shifts position at Kowalski's Markets?

Your main duties will be to maintain the hot foods case, pasta bar, burrito bar, wing bar, and the rotisserie chickens. This means following the Kowalski’s procedures for preparation, handling, sanitation, freshness, and quality. A deli chef needs excellent time management skills to prepare for the lunch and dinner rushes throughout the day. Good communication is critical to keeping all areas of the deli freshly stocked with good food, so our customers have all options available to them. You must follow strict health and safety guidelines to prevent any accidents, injuries, or illnesses.
Food service experience helpful but not required. We will train you!
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have year-round availability
- Flexible to schedule 20-39 hours/week
- Must be available to start at 6 AM and available until at least 5 PM on a regular basis, but also flexible to work Mid and Evening shifts until 9 PM when needed.
- Open availability is ideal (can work any time of day)
- Must be available weekends & holidays
- Ensure quality and safety of food
- Comfortable speaking to customers in an energetic and helpful manner
- Ability to work independently
- Interest in preparing, handling, and cooking food
- Interest in product knowledge
- Understand that you have the power to impact customers and coworkers day in a positive way
