Position Description:
Join our team as a Quality Inspector and play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and compliance in the fabrication of stainless-steel equipment and components for the food and dairy manufacturing industry. In this position, you will inspect fabricated parts, assemblies, and finished products to verify compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, sanitary design requirements, and company quality standards. As a Quality Inspector, you will help ensure that our custom stainless-steel equipment meets the demanding requirements of the food and dairy industry while supporting a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of raw materials, fabricated components, weldments, and finished assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Inspect weld quality, surface finishes, material identification, and fabrication workmanship to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable industry requirements.
- Review fabrication drawings, blueprints, bills of materials, and work orders to verify product accuracy and completeness.
- Document inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions accurately and maintain quality records.
- Collaborate with production, welding, engineering, and project management teams to resolve quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet sanitary design requirements for food and dairy processing applications.
- Verify proper material certifications, traceability documentation, and quality records as required.
- Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with calibration and maintenance of inspection and measurement equipment.
- Monitor adherence to company quality procedures, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; technical training in manufacturing, welding, fabrication, or quality assurance preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience in metal fabrication, stainless steel manufacturing, machining, or a related industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications.
- Working knowledge of inspection methods, dimensional measurement techniques, and quality control processes.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Familiarity with stainless steel fabrication processes, welding techniques, and sanitary equipment construction is preferred.
- Knowledge of food-grade manufacturing standards, sanitary design principles, and industry quality requirements is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify defects, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in documenting inspection findings and maintaining accurate quality records.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments.
