Duties
- Provide attentive supervision and patient observation to monitor health status and respond promptly to changes.
- Assist with washing, combing and brushing hair, picking out appropriate attire and giving reminders and verbal prompts to bathe and brush teeth daily.
- Administer medications accurately following medical instructions and document medication records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support clients with medical procedures including vital signs monitoring and basic wound care.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding as required.
- Manage household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment to promote comfort and hygiene.
- Document all patient interactions and medical information.
- Use medical terminology appropriately when communicating with healthcare professionals or documenting care activities.
- Support clients during emergencies by implementing CPR procedures or other first aid measures when necessary.
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies, or long-term care environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical documentation practices is essential.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
