Senior Manager, Merger & Acquisitions

We are supporting our client in search of a Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions. Our client is a global industrials company based in the Chicago area. The company actively pursues growth through acquisitions, strategic investments, and partnerships across its global business segments. Reporting into the VP M&A, this position sits on the Corporate Development team and will be focused on evaluating new market opportunities, identifying and engaging potential targets, and supporting commercial aspects of transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business leaders to conduct portfolio analyses, assess performance, identify growth opportunities, and recommend strategic priorities for capital allocation
- Facilitate discussions with senior leadership regarding global inorganic growth opportunities, including platform expansion and adjacent market strategies
- Conduct market mapping and gap analyses to identify potential acquisition, investment, or partnership targets
- Develop target profiles and proactively engage prospective companies
- Build and maintain relationships with investment banks, executives, and industry stakeholders
- Prepare presentations, business cases, and approval materials to support transaction opportunities
- Lead commercial due diligence efforts, develop investment theses, and translate findings into actionable strategies and integration considerations
- Partner cross-functionally to support execution of acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree required
- 5 years of experience in a corporate strategy, business development or M&A position
- Must have experience in assessing and sourcing potential targets
- Proven leadership capabilities with strong relationship building, strategic thinking, ability to influence others and communication skills
- Background in industrial, manufacturing, or similarly complex operating environments
- Strong financial and business acumen
Salary : $160,000 - $180,000
