Purpose of the Position
The client seeks a dynamic and visionary Head of Wealth Management to lead the transformation and growth of its Wealth Management business.
This role represents a unique opportunity to build and scale a wealth platform within a highly respected and growth-oriented financial institution. Unlike many institution-based wealth programs that operate as ancillary services, Wealth Management at the client has executive sponsorship, strategic importance, and significant investment support.
Reporting directly to the Chief Experience Officer, the Head of Wealth Management will serve as a key member of the leadership team and will play a central role in shaping the client’s future member engagement strategy.
The successful candidate will inherit an established wealth management platform with approximately $250 million in assets under management, a team of experienced advisors, strong member relationships, and significant untapped opportunity. Current member penetration is approximately 1%, creating substantial opportunity to expand advisory relationships, financial planning services, and wealth solutions across the client’s growing membership base.
This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a long-term strategy that transforms Wealth Management from a primarily transaction-oriented business into a scalable, planning-led advisory platform that supports the client’s broader growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
The Head of Wealth Management will be responsible for leading the next phase of growth across the Wealth Management business.
Develop and Execute a Growth Strategy
- Establish and execute a multi-year growth plan for Wealth Management.
- Increase member penetration and expand engagement across existing member segments.
- Grow assets under management, advisory assets, and overall program revenue.
- Diversify revenue streams beyond traditional annuity business.
- Expand recurring revenue through advisory and planning relationships.
- Align wealth services with the client’s broader member engagement strategy.
Build a Scalable Wealth Platform
- Evaluate current operating models and advisor deployment strategies.
- Optimize advisor territories, book segmentation, and member coverage.
- Develop plans for future advisor recruiting and team expansion.
- Support geographic growth in existing and emerging markets.
- Build infrastructure capable of supporting significant long-term growth.
Expand Member Engagement
- Increase awareness and utilization of wealth services across the membership base.
- Develop strategies to reach younger and emerging affluent member segments.
- Establish a more comprehensive financial planning service for members.
- Enhance member access to wealth management resources and education.
Optimize Referral Generation
- Strengthen and improve the existing referral ecosystem.
- Increase referral volume and conversion effectiveness.
- Expand referral activity beyond branch-based channels.
- Develop strategic partnerships with Retail Banking, Mortgage Lending, Commercial Banking, and other member-facing business lines.
- Create sustainable referral accountability and measurement processes.
Lead Advisor Development
- Coach and develop a team of experienced financial advisors.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on growth, planning, and member outcomes.
- Lead change management efforts as the business evolves.
- Develop succession planning and continuity strategies for the advisor team.
- Recruit and onboard future advisors as the platform expands.
Enhance Product and Service Capabilities
- Expand planning-based solutions.
- Evaluate opportunities within insurance and risk management solutions.
- Identify additional services aligned with member needs and market demand.
- Drive broader adoption of advisory services across the organization.
Executive Leadership and Collaboration
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
- Participate in enterprise strategic planning discussions.
- Collaborate with peers across Retail, Lending, Marketing, Operations, Technology, and Strategy.
- Provide thought leadership regarding the future direction of Wealth Management.

The ideal candidate will combine strategic leadership capability, wealth management expertise, advisor development experience, and a demonstrated track record of business growth.
Qualifications
- Significant leadership experience within Wealth Management, Investment Services, Financial Planning, Private Banking, or related financial services businesses.
- Demonstrated success leading and growing advisory teams.
- Experience building referral partnerships and internal distribution channels.
- Strong understanding of advisory business models and planning-led client engagement.
- Experience driving growth in assets, revenue, and client relationships.
- Experience leading change and transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and supervisory requirements.
- Experience operating within a highly regulated financial services environment.
Preferred
- Experience within a credit union, community bank, regional bank, broker-dealer, or institutional wealth platform.
- FINRA registrations and securities licensing.
- CFP®, CIMA®, or similar designation.
