Role Summary
- Title: Natural Gas Scheduler
- Reports to: Director of Operations / Scheduling Leadership
- Location: Houston, TX (Katy area; in-office with flexibility over time)
- Team Involvement: Works closely with commercial, accounting, measurement, and field operations teams
- Primary Focus: Manage daily gas scheduling, balancing, and coordination across pipelines, plants, and counterparties while supporting a growing midstream platform
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily and monthly gas scheduling across multiple pipelines and systems
- Coordinate nominations, confirmations, and scheduling activity with pipelines, producers, and customers
- Monitor and manage imbalances, cuts, and capacity constraints across the system
- Ensure compliance with pipeline tariffs, NAESB standards, and contractual requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with commercial, accounting, and operations teams to ensure accurate volume tracking
- Review and validate measurement data, including meter volumes and allocations, ensuring alignment with scheduled volumes
- Support allocation processes and reconcile differences between measured and scheduled volumes
- Assist with monthly close activities including volume tie-outs and reporting
- Maintain accurate records of nominations, confirmations, and scheduling activity
- Support onboarding of new pipelines, interconnects, and contracts as the system continues to grow
- Assist in optimizing gas flows across the system to support commercial objectives
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed in a growing, dynamic environment
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 2–5 years of natural gas scheduling experience within midstream, pipeline, or gas marketing environments
- Strong understanding of pipeline operations and nomination cycles (Timely, Evening, Intraday)
- Experience managing imbalances and working within gas balancing frameworks
- Familiarity with pipeline EBBs, scheduling systems, and gas measurement/allocation processes
- Knowledge of Texas and Louisiana pipeline systems strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who is adaptable, trainable, and eager to grow within the role
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across multiple teams
- Proficiency in Excel and scheduling-related systems
Compensation & Benefits:
- Target base compensation range: $85K–$110K
- Bonus: 20% annual performance incentive (historically paid out)
