We have partnered with our client in their search for a Back-end Java Developer to join a team building a large-scale application that automates application connectivity, networking controls, security validation, and provisioning. This is a hands-on backend engineering role with a strong focus on Core Java, Spring Boot, micro-services, AWS, and Terraform.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance back-end applications and micro services using Core Java and Spring Boot.
- Build new functionality for a large-scale platform that automates application connectivity, networking controls, policy validation, security, and provisioning.
- Develop and deploy cloud-based services within AWS, including ECS, EC2, Lambda, Aurora, SQS/SNS, and Security Groups.
- Manage and deploy cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Participate across the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, CI/CD, resiliency, security, and production support.
- Work within a collaborative engineering team as the platform expands across AWS and additional cloud environments.
Skills Required
- Strong hands-on Core Java development and software design experience.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on AWS development experience, ideally including ECS, EC2, Lambda, Aurora, SQS/SNS, and Security Groups.
- Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise software engineering practices including CI/CD, testing, cloud development, resiliency, and security.
- Experience with cloud networking, firewalls, connectivity, or AWS Security Groups is a plus.
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend Java development.
