Accounting Manager
Location: Nashville
Reports to: Director of Accounting & Finance
About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Accounting Manager to lead our day‑to‑day accounting operations. This role will oversee the full AR cycle, drive collection strategies, and ensure timely cash flow while also supporting core accounting functions.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable owning processes end‑to‑end in a fast‑moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Collections Leadership
- Own the entire AR function, including billing, cash application, aging analysis, and customer account reconciliation
- Lead and manage the collections process, establishing strategies to reduce DSO and improve cash flow
- Partner with customers, internal teams, and leadership to resolve payment issues and maintain strong relationships
- Develop and maintain AR reporting, dashboards, and KPIs for leadership visibility
Core Accounting Management
- Oversee daily accounting operations including GL maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal policies
- Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and audit documentation
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and process documentation
- Support AP, payroll, and other operational accounting areas as needed
FP&A & Business Support
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Provide financial insights to leadership to support decision‑making
- Analyze trends in revenue, expenses, and cash flow
- Support ad‑hoc financial modeling and reporting
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong experience in Accounts Receivable and collections required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CMA preferred but not required
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Strong Excel skills; experience with accounting/ERP systems
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a growing, evolving environment
