Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Manage guest inquiries, resolve issues efficiently, and ensure overall guest satisfaction through attentive service
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments through POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with guests
- Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment using strong time management skills
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations
- Culinary experience or kitchen familiarity is advantageous but not required
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and order calculations accurately
- Previous host/hostess or serving experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
