Reporting to the Program Manager, the Social Services Coordinator (SSC) position is responsible for outreach activities and assisting client's with program participation requirements and necessary applications. The SSC position will also be responsible for providing regular reporting regarding program participation and effectiveness to the Program Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Translates documents from English to Korean, as needed;
- Conducts community outreach efforts to increase new clients
- Follows up with program correspondence for client’s progress
- Teaches and monitors civic classes as needed
- Prepares monthly reports for contract compliance, with appropriate demographic data from employees
- Prepares client intake, fills out appropriate documents and inputs data into social service database
- Plan and execute outreach events to promote programs;
- Make presentations about programs one-on-one and to groups of people;
- Helps client complete application for public benefits or health care access
- Participates in staff meetings and training as requested;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements, Competencies and Qualifications
- Satisfactorily pass criminal history and reference checks;
- Must have bilingual ability to speak, read and write English and Korean;
- Must have current driver’s license, and current auto insurance, or be able to travel to different locations as needed;
- Strong understanding of assigned community, including best way for outreach;
- Good computer skills – data entry, MS Office, MS Excel Outlook Calendar;
- Ability to produce quality written communications;
- Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others;
Education
- High school diploma or foreign equivalent required; Some college preferred.
- Experience
- Experience in community outreach, advocacy and/or organizing preferred.
Working Conditions
